Atopia
is a series of eight cards given to MoMA visitors during its free admission
evening. These cards encouraged MoMA visitors to notice art experiences in between
those labeled by museum staff. Each card included a photograph and description
of a found moment at the museum, works akin to those consciously exhibited by
the museum but much more modest in scope. These cards served as a gallery guide
that directed visitors to the pictured works and invited similar investigations.
